These are all topics that are regularly covered in criminology & criminal justice doctoral programs throughout the United States; however there is currently no single CRJS 6542 Course being offered that addresses all these topics in one comprehensive manner. This is what makes this new CRJS 6542 Course so unique; it offers students an opportunity to develop a broad skill set that will enable them to effectively lead successful organizational transformations within their own agencies or departments regardless of what type of global environment they find themselves working within once they graduate from their doctoral program.

The majority of this class will be taught online via lecture/discussion format; however there will also be opportunities for small group discussions as well as individual projects where students will have opportunities to apply concepts learned throughout the class in real world settings that are relevant to their own personal experiences or professional goals.

There will be four written assignments due throughout the duration of this class; however each assignment builds upon concepts learned from previous assignments so students are encouraged not read ahead or get too far ahead on any given assignment because it may hinder their ability to successfully complete future assignments. There will also be opportunities for students who wish to earn extra credit points by completing additional assignments related to real world experiences they have had managing organizational transformations either in their current employment setting or previous employment setting(s).

The area of focus for this research project is the **legal system** in the United States. The specific problem I want to investigate is how effective it is at protecting victims of domestic violence.

The legal system in the United States has been criticized for its handling of domestic violence cases. Victims of domestic violence often find themselves in a difficult situation, as they may be afraid to come forward or may not have the resources to do so.
