CRJS 6245 Week 3 Description

The social world is made of diverse populations that interact in social settings. This course focuses on examining the influence of cultural, political, and socio-economic forces in shaping human behavior. Through lectures, guest speakers, and a final project, students will explore the impact of culture on individual behavior by examining group behaviors. Course topics include: development of group identities; social stratification; racism and sexism; prejudice and discrimination; aggression and violence; family structure and structure of society.
