A technique for gathering information from persons who are not part of the informants’ normal environment, e.g., using a telephone interview. The course provides opportunities for students to apply skills in interviewing and observational strategies with real clients and business executives. The topics covered include interpersonal skills, professional confidentiality, ethics, listening, eliciting information, questioning techniques, closing the interview, and evaluation of research results.
